Immunology is a very specific branch of medical science. This is because immunity is a protective ability of the body which is given to us by an inconceivable nature since the first man appeared on Earth.
By the XXI century the genetic history of humanity has come to the highest point of vulnerability of our immune system - from massive epidemics of the Middle Ages to the modern man-made diseases. It is important to balance the self-defense mechanism that was once laid into us but dries up today with the pathogenic challenges to the health of a modern man. This is not an easy task, as new pathogenic factors invade our lives as a snowball - quickly and without interruption.
Therefore, immunologists have to constantly keep watch of the immune status of our society, being ahead of new agents of those already studied and those yet unidentified disease. For this purpose, a Research Center was established in the Institute of High Technology.
